The 5+ A Day® Charitable Trust
5+ A Day was launched in New Zealand in 1994 by the non-profit organization United Fresh NZ Inc. and became a Charitable Trust in 2009.
The objective of 5+ A Day is to encourage all New Zealanders to eat and enjoy eating 5 or more servings of fruit and vegetables every day for health, taste and variety.
This is in line with the Ministry of Health’s guidelines that recommend we eat five or more servings of fruit and vegetables each day.
5+ A Day programmes run in about 28 countries.
Our Logo – Breaking down the message
What is a serving?

A serving is about a handful – this is why we have a hand in our logo to measure servings. Everyone uses their own hand to measure their servings. This means a serving for an adult is a lot bigger than a serving for a small child.
