Nashi are available from late January to June in New Zealand.


Storage and Handling

Ripen at room temperature then store in the refrigerator. Handle all fresh produce with care and wash before eating.



Nashi pears are native to East Asia where they are widely grown.



  • Nashi is Japanese for pear
  • Nashi bruise easily and must be harvested by hand


Growing Facts

  • Generally, Nashi pears will grow anywhere apples will grow
  • They usually fruit in their second or third year
