Meet Fredge

Fredge completes Relay for Life in the Hawkes Bay and Porirua

Fredge was invited to the Hawkes Bay and Porirua Cancer Society Relay For Life Events 2010, where over 1,000 participants making up 77 teams took part. Relay teams walked and jogged through the night around specially set out tracks, and enjoyed the festive environment.

Fredge proved popular with the public and added to the atmosphere of the event.  He visited participants’ tents and in Porirua he even got up on stage to give a spontaneous performance! Fredge took to the track and did a lap while apples and 5+ A Day bookmarks were handed out to children and their families. He was a hit with the kids at the event.

Fredge mixes it up at radio stations

During 5+ A Day Fruit and Vegetable Month Fredge made guest appearances at Auckland radio studios. He hung out with Corbett, Jesse and Jo at More FM. He then stormed through Flava FM, The Rock, George FM, Classic Hits and Easy Mix with fresh fruit for everyone and spread the 5+ A Day message.

5+ A Day on Sunrise TV3

Fredge and the 5+ A Day team appeared on Sunrise TV in November to promote 5+ A Day Fruit and Vegetable Month.

Josh Heslop the weatherman interviewed Bronwen Anderson, 5+ A Day’s spokesperson. The interview and Fredge handing out fresh fruit to the public, was a great way to convey our 5+ A Day message!

The public really took to Fredge, some managed to sneak in hugs too!
