International Fruit and Vegetable Alliance

IFAVA’s mandate is to support efforts to increase intake of fruit and vegetables by providing members with up-to-date information and support resources, including: research literature surveillance and science reviews; media relations and other communications tools; forums for transferring success stories and sharing resources.

These tools will help alliance members operate and communicate more efficiently and effectively.

As a not-for-profit, incorporated society working within health promotion IFAVA will work towards World Health Organisation (WHO) accreditation.

Mission Statement

To encourage and foster efforts to increase the consumption of fruit and vegetables globally for better health by supporting national initiatives, promoting efficiencies, facilitating collaboration on shared aims and providing global leadership. All of which is based on sound science.

A full-time Executive Director will be appointed within the next month to begin initiation of IFAVA’s strategic plan.

Strategic business planning and sound science will be underpinned by four core elements.

The Four Core Elements

1)    Global leadership
2)    Provision of a scientific clearing-house
3)    Communication and resource sharing
4)    Assisting with fundraising frameworks

Members

IFAVA is actively seeking both active and observer members from countries interested in raising the consumption of fruit and vegetables.
