Welcome to the 5+ A Day Charitable Trust
5+ A Day is a Charitable Trust (formed in 2007) that encourages all Kiwis to eat five or more servings of colourful, fresh vegetables and two servings of fruit every day for better health.
5+ A Day works with AIAM5 a Global Alliance to promote fruit and vegetables in partnership with 32 countries worldwide. The countries involved run similar initiatives to increase the consumption of fresh fruit and vegetables nationally and internationally. Visit the AIAM5 website for more.

Our Vision
To have all New Zealanders understanding and enjoying the benefits of a daily diet rich in fresh fruit and vegetables.
Our work
Why 5+ A Day?
Curriculum Linked Education Resources
Developing free curriculum linked teaching resources is a large part of what we do at the 5+ A Day Charitable Trust. Our extensive range includes both print and downloadable files that focus on eating well, including plenty of seasonal fruit and vegetables, and growing your own fresh produce.
Educators can access 5+ A Day resources via our education website here.
Promotion
We encourage Kiwis to add a serving of fresh fruit and vegetables to every meal and snack throughout the day. We focus on what’s in season for best value and nutrition.
Our seasonal recipes and serving suggestions are shared in our online and print communications.
For fresh ideas, nutrition information and giveaways follow @5adaynz on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and TikTok.
What is a serving size?

A serving is about a handful and we all use our own hands – therefore a child’s serving is smaller than an adult’s.
