Fredge attends 2023 Blossom Festival

Recently Fredge travelled to Alexandra to join our friends at the Life Education Trust for the Blossom Festival.
The Alexandra Blossom Festival is a real highlight of the year for the Central Otago community. The Life Education Trust has been involved in the Blossom Festival parade for many years, and is a chance for the Trust to give back to the community that supports their work.
This year the Trust asked local schools to design a float as a way to increase engagement. The winning idea combined healthy eating and healthy living messages. Fredge joined Life Education Trustees on the float, who were dressed as fruit and vegetables, with Harold riding a bike towing his fruit basket. Fredge’s appearance at the festival helped to promote our messages around eating more fruit and vegetables for health and wellbeing.
Dana Young of the Life Education Trust says ‘Children love to see Harold and the excitement we see on their faces, and as they wave to Harold in the parade, gives us real satisfaction to know that we are making an impact when we visit schools.’
Thousands of people lined the main street of Alexandra for the parade, with estimates of well over 10,000 people enjoying the celebrations. Following the parade, Fredge and Harold walked around the park posing for photos and interacting with people.
Ngā mihi nui to the Life Education Trust for inviting Fredge to this great spring event!
